Mengqi (Cytheria) Shen ’20

By May 13, 2020May 17th, 2020Student Spotlight

Mengqi, a student who radiates creativity, has contributed to the Knox community in many ways, including holding a position within the Student Council as Visual Arts Representative, leading the Knox Fashion Club as President for two years and serving as a member of the Semper ad Lucem Chapter of the National Honor Society. Within this impressive scholarly record and creative ambitions, there was no doubt she would be accepted into her dream art school, Parsons School of Design, for the fall of 2020.

Originally from Shanghai, China, Mengqi joined The Knox School with a keen desire to attend a prestigious art school in New York City upon graduation. In an effort to achieve this goal, she spent the summer of her Junior year studying graphic design at Yale University within their high school summer art-intensive program. Through her work in this program, and her tireless efforts building an art and design portfolio in her AP Art Studio Art, Electronic Illustration and Photography classes, Mengqi was able to achieve her dream and receive acceptance into Parsons, one of the Top 3 Design Schools in the World!

The Knox School community is proud of the accomplishments of this creative young woman and we wish Menqi Shen tremendous success in the next chapter of her artistic career.
