Campus Resources

Knox students have access to a wealth of resources on campus designed to support their academic, physical, and emotional growth. These resources create a supportive learning environment where they can take risks, challenge themselves to experience unfamiliar perspectives, and form long-lasting relationships with faculty, staff, and fellow students.

Meal options at Houghton Hall are plentiful. We offer hot options and a salad bar, and family-style dining is a weekly event. All meals are catered by CulinArt, and include nutritious options for all tastes and dietary restrictions. Even our pickiest eaters are full and happy.

Student Health Services

At Knox, the well-being and safety of our students is our number one priority. A Registered Nurse is on staff or on call seven days a week and the school’s physician sees students on campus for both sick and wellness visits. Our Health and Wellness Center is home to a triage center, fully-equipped infirmary, and a suite of private rooms where students can spend the night if they need overnight care for injury or illness. Our nursing staff also transports students to and from medical appointments and is the health and wellness liaison to our families.

Social & Emotional Support

Adjusting to the demands of an independent school education, whether you are a boarding student or a day student, can be challenging. To assist with transitions and other social and emotional issues that are inevitable in the lives of our youth today, Knox students have access to off-campus mental health professionals, and regular opportunities to meet on-campus with our full-time counselor.

Knox Fitness Center

The Knox Fitness Center located in our Gymnasium is a fully equipped workout area open to Knox students, which also includes a full indoor Rowing facility. The area also is home to two squat racks, two bench presses, free weights ranging from kettlebells to barbells, an array of treadmills, ellipticals, and recumbent bikes. Students have the opportunity to find the best fit exercises to stay active.

The Falcon's Nest

The Falcon’s Nest, run by the Parent and Student Association (PSA) is a “one-stop-shop” where students can purchase school supplies, small toiletry items, Knox polos and other clothing, and snacks in between meals and shopping trips. The Nest is conveniently located right outside the Senior Tuck snack shop in the bottom of the gymnasium.

Students are invited to join the PSA and recommend items for sale in The Nest.

Athletic Facilities

Our 40 acre campus is home to a state-of-the-art Equestrian Center, 4 regulation-sized tennis courts, a gymnasium with a full basketball court, a soccer field, baseball diamond and clay softball field, a cross-country track, as well as a waterfront launch and indoor erg center for year-round Crew practice.

Evening Study

During evening study hours, boarding students have the opportunity to use the library-media center, participate in small study groups, or work in their dorm rooms to complete homework, projects and other assignments. Faculty on-duty monitor each study area to ensure students are using this valuable time responsibly and are available to assist students when necessary.
